Part of the success of our network is that our traffic sources are
diversified and loyal. Our traffic comes from major search engines,
local visitor's word of mouth, links, our world wide directory, but the largest
portion comes from people that have set our portal as their home page.
This is a graphical representation of how our traffic is directed toward the portals.
This does change over time on each portal as more and more local people set the portal
to be their homepage, however this is a good example of many newer portals we have
established.
As you can see, we have many sources which helps to keep our traffic steady and
growing:
Blue Area, (Direct). The largest area on this pie chart
is the blue area, direct traffic. This traffic comes from people that
have set the portal as their home page. This is the largest growing area.
We expect that within the next 12 months this will become the majority
of all traffic, because our goal is to have all local residents set their
home town portal as their home page. The larger the blue area becomes the
less and less dependent our system is on traffic from outside our own
network.
Orange, Green, and Tan areas, (Other Search Engines). These areas represent
traffic that comes in from other search engines that are not search engines on
Your Home Town Portals.
Purple, (Our Main Hub). This area represents traffic that has entered our portal
network in another town and then searched thru and found a different home town portal
inside our own network.
Pink, (Links, etc). This area represents traffic that has entered our portal
network from the hundreds of thousands of links on websites outside of our network back
to our individual home town portals.

Please note that some of our portal directors with experience in sales get 25% of
the business owners they give a presentation to purchase a premium listing. If you
are new to sales the industry standard is normally 10%. This in no way guarantees
you will have these percentages, but some of our directors report 25% closing ratio
once a business owner has been given a full presentation.

Portal Director may sell advertising for Portal Director's assigned portal to any person, business, or area in the world. Portal Director understands that no other entity can sell premium listings for Portal Director's assigned portal without the permission of Portal Director. Portal Director understands that other Portal Directors may sell advertising to any person or business in the town with the same name as Portal Directors portal. Only one portal will be built per town. Portal director has control of assigned portal.
