Above is a picture of what an advertisment may look like for
the Local Community Calender. There are several components
that are important to the success of your portal's classified business.
Success Invention #3
Users may type text for their classified ads with no use whatsoever of HTML
and still have a great looking advertisement.
Success Invention #4
Each category has a different
header graphic to describe which category they are browsing.
Success Invention #5
Advanced users may use HTML to create very fancy advertisements, adding tables,
fonts, pictures, layouts, etc.
Success Invention #6
Users that are not advanced in HTML may easily upload up to 4 pictures on the free
advertisements using our uploader. They may upload up to 10 pictures if they purchase
a premium advertisement.
Success Invention #7
All advertisements have the username of the person that posted the advertisement. The user
can decide what their username will be. The username links to the "About Me" pages for the
user so that prospective buyers can learn more about the person that is selling the service
or product.
Success Invention #8
There is a graphic link to the "Friends" on the users "About Me" pages. This lets
prospective buyers see comments from other users that have done business with
this particular user. More about this "Friends" later.
Success Invention #9
There is a graphic link to the "Post a Note." This lets
prospective buyers ask a question that will appear below the advertisement, assuming
the advertiser has turned on the function.
When a prospective buyers ask a question an email notice is sent to the owner
of the advertisement notifying them. The advertiser may then post a response or
answer to the question, and both are viewable by all people visiting the advertisement.
Many times advertisers forget important information when trying to make a sale,
so this feature helps to fill in those gaps. For example, perhaps you have a 1969
mustang for sale. A question is posted by a prospective buyer as to how many
miles are on the car, and you can respond. Then everyone reading the advertisement
will not have to ask the same question, and it will help you make the sale.
Success Invention #10
There is a graphic link to the private email function for the users. More on
this feature later.

director for your town.
Sales is a numbers game! Pick Your Numbers!
Please note that some of our portal directors with experience in sales get 25% of
the business owners they give a presentation to purchase a premium listing. If you
are new to sales the industry standard is normally 10%. This in no way guarantees
you will have these percentages, but some of our directors report 25% closing ratio
once a business owner has been given a full presentation.
